With over a decade in the mental health field, Kristen has worked in all aspects of prevention, intervention and education specializing in working with youth and adults who struggle with issues such as depression, anxiety, self-harm and trauma. She also works with families to build healthy relationships and improve communication. Kristen is active in the field of mental health research and was interviewed on CBC and CKNW radio regarding her work in creating programs for healthy sexuality and gender identity in teens and young adults.

In the past she has served as a member of the Joint Family Court and Youth Justice Committee for the Tri-Cities. This group addresses resources and legislation concerning families and youth in the area.
